Showers and Fun!

Candid shots of Dana at her WEDDING SHOWER!  I caught her laughing, and then when I snapped again, I caught her mid-sip!  So great to be here with her for this exciting time in her life.  Christy, Cameron, Laura, and Gina put on a fantastic shower, and food that was AMAZING!  Creative and fun times all done in Spanish and English.  Dana is marrying Andres, an Ecuadorian and so she is joining the host of bicultural marriages in Youth World, living a bilingual life in the deepest sense of the word.  There are three Youth World Weddings in the next few weeks!  So there are showers and craziness galore.  Two days later Dana and Christy did a shower for another of the bride-to-be's.  I think they should have a business!  They do such great work!  Beautiful, tasty, and delightful.

Christy with Mary who is just back from furlough and gearing up for summer out at El Refugio.

Cameron with precious baby Graham!!!!  She was playing mommy and hostess, double duty for the afternoon.  I got to help with Graham, :)  tough assignment, but someone had to do it!!!!  Tee Hee!

Marlo, Beth, and Ashley enjoying the scrumscious spread that the girls had put out.  So tasty!
Leading a game!  This one can be dicey done in one language, it was exponentially tricky in two languages!  Below Christy is trying to sort out the ramifications of what the game has yielded as she plugs the words offered by the group into the story!  Cameron is simultaneously translating!  Extra fun.
"No, I REALLY can't say that! in either language!"

                                                                O.K. let's go with this!

And here are two pictures of sunset in Quito.  Like I explained a few posts ago, you are see the reflection of the sun's setting.  I caught it in a picture yesterday evening and thought I would share a visual of what I was describing.  These views are to the East, so the sun is actually setting opposite of these mountains.  More beauty, snatches everywhere, if you have eyes to see and time to stop and enjoy!  It only takes a moment--and it is worth it!
