This is me at "our" table. Our last months in Ecuador, this became a regular part of Phil's and my rhythms! It was part of how we stayed connected to each other during the craziness of Austin graduating, Amber and Derek getting married, packing up a house and trying to decide whether to throw it away, sell it, store it, or take it to California! With each item in our home of 12 years these decisions had to be made. Keeping in mind that when we returned, if we returned, life would be very different with just two of us, than six of us! We had arrived in Quito in 1999 with 4 children, and left in 2010 with none! The twins were married, and Natalie and Austin were in college! So this little table has been the spot for many deep and meaningful conversations, and for many hard ones, and also joyful ones.
Notice the little piece of chocolate that comes with every coffee! Oh yes!
We have arrived in Quito, Ecuador for the summer! We were able to visit one of our favorite coffee places called CORFU. This is a picture of me enjoying coffee and a boston de queso. Our first morning in Quito, Thursday May 31! We walked the Park (parque carolina) and headed straight to Corfu! These pictures are of the capu. and cheese bread pastry (boston de queso) that is a favorite.
It was a glorious morning and the mountains were out, the sky was blue, there was a stiff breeze blowing--summer is here in Quito.
